About the speakers

Peter Work began his corporate career in Denmark and then moved to the United States in 1988 to work as a technology executive for Price Waterhouse Coopers, the Walt Disney Company, and Exult, a company he and his wife Rebecca co-founded with some friends and later sold to Hewitt Associates. Ampelos Cellars was founded in 1999 with the purchase of 82 acres in what is known as the Santa Rita Hills appellation wine region of California’s Central Coast. In 2001 and 2004 42,000 vines were planted on 25 acres yielding Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier grapes.

James P Cain served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark from 2005 to 2009.  During his tenure in Denmark, Ambassador Cain worked to ensure that Denmark remained committed to active engagement on the global scene.  Ambassador Cain is a strong believer in public diplomacy and has published a book entitled: “The American: On Diplomacy, Democracy and Denmark.” On January 16, 2009, Ambassador Cain was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II.
