BIEN gave out its annual price and award for exceptional and dedicated efforts in promoting and servicing the Danish Community in America in the past year this weekend at Grundlovsfesten in Southern California. The title of BIEN of the Year was awarded to both Kent and Connie Hanson for their work for The Danish National Committee of Southern California (DNC). Kent is the President for DNC and Connie is board member at Rebild and they are both generally active in “everything Danish in the Danish community in America”.
BIEN’s Publisher stated that “there are a lot of people working hard for the Danish community and there were a lot of contenders for BIEN of the year – but I felt this was a very well-deserved choice”. BIEN OF THE YEAR was given to Kent and Connie Hanson as a BEE of exceptional and dedicated efforts in promoting and servicing the Danish Community in America. As BIEN’s Publisher stated – behind every great BEE is a Queen so this year’s title was given to both Kent and Connie.
Last year’s BIEN of the Year was awarded to John Mark Nielsen for his work for the Museum of Danish America.
